Honoring Women & The Stories They Inspire
October 3rd, 2024
Mandy Brown and pianist, Tatiana Loisha, will be presenting this unique recital program with the In The Stacks concert series at the George Peabody Music Library. This program was created with the feminist viewpoint to celebrate diversity, explore the origins of witch stereotypes, and to reinstate the humanity to women who have been dehumanized over the years for their individuality, herbal medicinal knowledge (herbalism), and unique lifestyles. Linnane: A Noisy Story of Honor & Glory

Linnane: Songs from Kate O'Brien III
November 7th, 2024
Ms. Brown and longtime colleague pianist, Patrick O'Donnell will be performing the world premiere of this set of songs by composer, Fiona Linnane, about the famous Irish playwright, Kate O'Brien. The 2024 year marks the 50th anniversary of O'Brien's passing. Each piece from the set is for a different character from a Kate O'Brien play or novel. Golijov: Tenebrae
November 9th & 10th
Ms. Brown will be rejoining Inscape Chamber Orchestra and conductor Richard Scherbo, to perform Golijov's Tenebrae. Performance on November 9th will be at Silver Spring United Methodist Church in Silver Spring, MD. Performance on November 10th will be at the Linehan Concert Hall in Baltimore, MD. Handel: The Messiah - part I

Ms. Brown will be joining the Montgomery College Chorus as the soprano soloist for their performance of Handel's The Messiah (part I), under the direction of Dr. Molly Donnelly. Ms. Brown and pianist, Patrick O'Donnell, have been requested to perform "Songs From Kate O'Brien III" by Fiona Linnane for Virginia audiences after a celebrated world premiere performance at Strathmore Mansion in 2024. A favorite of DC composer, Steven Schwarz, Mandy will be premiering his latest works on Emily Dickinson poems for soprano, piano 4 hands, and clarinet.
